Partners for Access and Identification (PAID)The Paid Project is city-wide and helps vulnerable people get the identification they need to access health care, sources of income such as pensions, and other services. Because of the nature of street life, ID is often lost or stolen, and without basic ID—such as a birth certificate, health card or social insurance number—it is impossible to access basic services or find employment. We have over 40 PAID clinic sites in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), and we serve approximately 8,000 homeless people annually.

Through regularly scheduled clinics throughout the city, PAID program works to help individuals who do not have a permanent address.

ID Workers can only assist clients with the following documents:

  • Birth Registration
  • Canadian Birth Certificate – wallet size
  • Verification of Status – replacements (formerly known as Record of Landing)
  • Ontario Health Card (must be homeless)
  • Ontario Photo ID Card (must be homeless)

Unfortunately, ID Workers cannot assist clients to obtain the following documents:

  • Permanent Resident (PR) Card
  • Canadian Citizenship Card
  • Foreign Birth certificates
  • Canadian or Foreign Passport
  • Ontario Driver Licence

A. In-person ID Clinic

The PAID program is currently closed and will reopen at our new location at 9:00 am on Thursday, October 6th.

Clients will be served on first come, first served basis. Please arrive on time!

B. Phone application intake for the clients with disability and mobility issues; depending on the ID worker’s availability

Clients must directly contact PAID office at 416.691.7407, Monday to Friday, 10 am – 3 pm. Closed for lunch 12 pm – 1 pm.

Applications will be assessed on a case-by-case basis and services will be offered as per client’s circumstances.

C. Pick up Arrangement

Clients must call PAID office at 416.691.7407 to make arrangement with ID workers.
